Let the prescription do its job more clearly
Every untreated lens reflects some light from its front and back surfaces. A quality anti-reflective treatment reduces those reflections, helping the lenses look clearer and allowing other people to see your eyes more naturally.
The benefit can be especially noticeable around headlights, bright indoor lighting and computer screens. Current treatment packages may also add easier cleaning, water repellency and improved resistance to everyday wear, depending on the product selected.
More light through the prescription
Precisely engineered layers reduce light reflected from the front and back lens surfaces. That allows more useful light to pass through the prescription and leaves fewer reflections competing with the view.
Clearer-looking lenses
Reduced surface reflections make the lenses appear more transparent, allowing other people to see the wearer's eyes more naturally in conversation, photographs and video calls.
Comfort in demanding lighting
Anti-reflective treatment can reduce lens-surface reflections from headlights, streetlights, computer screens and overhead lighting. Many wearers appreciate the difference most in dim or high-contrast settings.
Modern finish packages
Depending on the product, current treatments may combine reflection control with scratch resistance, water repellency, smudge resistance and easier cleaning.

Good questions deserve clear answers.
Does anti-reflective treatment eliminate all nighttime glare?
No. It reduces reflections from the lens surfaces but cannot eliminate glare from weather, windshields, dirty lenses, cataracts or other eye conditions.
Is anti-reflective treatment the same as blue-light filtering?
No. These are separate lens features, although a product may combine them. Ask what a particular treatment is designed to do.
Will anti-reflective treatment make lenses scratch-proof?
No lens is scratch-proof. Some coating packages improve scratch resistance, but appropriate cleaning and storage still matter.
